Tournament Rules
PWSA Rules
apply with exceptions as listed below:
All teams must submit a roster prior to their
first game at the registration desk located at Legion Fields.
Proof of age must be available upon request
from organizing committee.
A team who has borrowed a player from another
team must obtain, and submit to the tournament convener, a Letter of Permission
from the team the player is registered with.
If a Letter of Permission is not provided, the player will not be
covered by insurance.
Any team having ineligible players will be
disqualified from the tournament.
Game length will be regulation seven (7)
innings, with the following exception:
No inning will start after 1 hour and 15 minutes of play. Umpire keeps official time. Home team will not bat if ahead after time
limit expires.
Home team will be determined by a coin toss at
home plate.
Home team is responsible for keeping score.
Home plate umpire time is the official time.
The winning team is responsible for confirming
the score with the losing team and reporting the score of the game to the
tournament convenor at Legion
Fields.
Mercy rule in effect for all games including
medal games:
25
runs ahead at the end of any inning
15
runs ahead at the end of 3 or 4 innings
10 runs ahead
at the end of 5 or more innings, 7 runs for Midget division
In the case of a tie at time limit, or end of
7 innings, the game will end in a tie during round robin play.
Pool placement will be decided by a point
total. All cross over games count as
pool play in the standings. Two points
will be awarded for a win and one point for a tie.
Tie breaking:
If at the end of round robin play, two teams are tied, the winner of the game played between the two tied teams will decide placement. If their game in the pool was tied, or if more than two teams are tied, the following criteria will be used:
1)
Total runs
scored, minus total runs allowed
2) Least runs allowed
3)
Total runs
scored
Championship Games (Gold / Silver) will be 7
innings with no time limit. Mercy rule
will apply.
If a Medal Game is tied at the end of the time
limit, Tie Break Rule will go into affect to start the next inning.
No protests will be accepted. Umpires’ decisions are final.
Forfeit games will be a score of 7-0.
Player/coach/spectator misconduct will not be
tolerated.
